El ventilador, el controlador de flujo, la interfaz y el modo o ajuste son aspectos esenciales para la administraci\u00f3n eficaz de la terapia no invasiva.<\/p><p>En el entorno de los cuidados intensivos para adultos, se dispone de varias interfaces de VMNI, como mascarillas nasales, mascarillas oronasales, boquillas, mascarillas faciales totales y cascos. La elecci\u00f3n entre los distintos tipos de mascarilla se basa en la comodidad del paciente, la anatom\u00eda de la cara del paciente y la disponibilidad del equipo. Se ha demostrado que la VMNI con mascarilla facial mejora eficazmente la oxigenaci\u00f3n y reduce la demanda inspiratoria.
